The laptop simply does not see it and that’s all. This is where I got upset and started looking for options to get out of this situation. There were thoughts of opening the battery cases and changing the Li-ion banks, but this is a collective farm, and it is not a fact that the battery controller will work. Then the happy thought came about updating the laptop's BIOS firmware. Moreover, in the description on the manufacturer’s website, it is written about adding support for fresh processors and batteries to the new BIOS revision (this is Dell).
Now the time has come for the update, and then an epic bummer happened... The BIOS update program does not want to update the BIOS until you insert a working and charged battery for safe firmware. So, it's a vicious circle. In order to install a new battery, you need to update the BIOS, and in order to update the BIOS, you need to install the battery... Well, here I got stuck a little, and thought bad words about the manufacturer.
But it turned out that not everything is so bad, there is a firmware option without a battery. You just need to do it with a key /forceit and it only works from under DOS.
We burn the bootable DOS image to a CD, as much as 17 Mb (). Boot from it, follow the following steps:
